We're still here!

Hello friends!  We have not fallen off the face of the earth, contrary to what our blog looks like...  We are busy preparing for baby David's arrival in a few weeks!  We had a great appointment today.  He looks great!  We even got to be guinea pigs for the new 4D ultrasound machine.  Now that is cool stuff!

We are all readying ourselves in different ways.  Smitty is loving his job with Novant.  He is working from home on Mondays now.  He loves that... although he says he eats way more snacks when he is at home!  He is doing the Biggest Loser at work... and doing pretty well so far, except those darn Monday snacks!  He and the other elders of the River Church have been making some really good but big decisions lately.  You can pray that the church leadership would receive a clear vision from the Lord of His plan for this congregation.

Here are a few updates (since the last time we blogged was like last year!):
Micah is so very thrilled to share his room with his baby brother.  We recently set the crib up in there so Micah could get used to it.  He and Elizabeth still don't understand why baby David isn't sleeping in there already.  Elizabeth is practicing all her baby "skills" with her baby dolls.  She is such a sweet little mama.  They both love to come up and talk to baby David and give my (big) belly kisses.

I am feeling exceptionally large this pregnancy.  Yep, there you have it.  My doctor told me today that I have only gained 15 pounds, which he is "pleased" with...  I am sorry, but my behind, etc is not so pleased.  It is well worth it!  All for a healthy baby!  I know I am not the only pregnant woman who feels this way... so there is the honest truth.  Other than that and some general fatigue, I am doing great!  We have decided I will be at home again with the kids after this month.  What a gift to be able to spend this time with my family!  And spots opened up for the kids back at their preschool where they were prior to the big transition.  God is cool like that.  I was so concerned about this part of the plan, and the Lord had already made a way.  Awesome.  Now, we just need to pray for His continued provision to pay the bills and put food on the table.  Why do we doubt?  Have we ever gone hungry?  Or the power gone out?  Nope.  "Thus far the Lord has helped us!" 1 Samuel 7:12

I don't think I ever posted to let you know about the pending adoption we were praying about.  Well, God is good.  I could say that all day.  He provided just the right place for the little baby that needed a family.  It could not have worked out better.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers in this process.  Sorry I left you all hanging!  The Lord is still working on us to adopt again... but let's see how 3 goes first!

You can join us in praying for these next few weeks.  Pray that Micah and Elizabeth's transition to their new/old school would be smooth.  Pray for continued health for me and baby David.  We are already praying for a smooth recovery this time.  I will have a repeat C-section... and those of you who know me... my last recovery was anything but smooth!  Pray for the Lord's great mercy here!

Here is the little guy!  In case you are new to 4D ultrasound reading... this is just a picture of his face!  :) Isn't our Creator amazing?
