It's a BOY!

Yay!  We had our ultrasound this week!  Our baby boy looks great and is growing well.  Wow, another boy!  My friends who have multiples have just said "CONGRATS!  I'll pray for you!"  Micah is such an active little gift!  We can only imagine the excitement with more than one boy!  Elizabeth is well suited to boss around two brothers!

After much prayer we have decided to name him David Pinnix Smith.  David is one our favorite folks in the Bible, and we happen to know some really great Davids (my brother included)! The name Pinnix is to honor Smitty's grandfather.  Lester Garl Pinnix was such an amazing man!  He started the legacy of adoption in our family and ignited our passion for orphan care.  But he asked that we not name any precious child Garl!  While Lester is a fine name, we thought it made sense to honor him with giving our baby the Pinnix name.  The writings of David (the Psalms) continue to speak truth into lives and often give words to the groanings of our spirits.  We praise the Lord for this little miracle in our lives!

Psalm 8 A psalm of David.
 1 O LORD, our Lord, 
       how majestic is your name in all the earth! 
       You have set your glory 
       above the heavens.

 2 From the lips of children and infants 
       you have ordained praise  
       because of your enemies, 
       to silence the foe and the avenger.

 3 When I consider your heavens, 
       the work of your fingers, 
       the moon and the stars, 
       which you have set in place,

 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, 
       the son of man that you care for him?

 5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings 
       and crowned him with glory and honor.

 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; 
       you put everything under his feet:

 7 all flocks and herds, 
       and the beasts of the field,

 8 the birds of the air, 
       and the fish of the sea, 
       all that swim the paths of the seas.

 9 O LORD, our Lord,
